The Importance of Speculative Design & Collaborative Projects

New designs come from new ideas often leading to breakthroughs and imaginative possibilities. Speculative design offers a way to extend the creative process to include: culture, community, economic and political considerations. These ontological relations dovetail into project development as it relates to empirical data, epistemological procedures, and scientific methods that Engineers use on a daily basis. Ultimately, what is achieved in the design of new structures, is a way to anticipate use and function as it relates to place and the environment from project inception to completion.
